STAFF FAREWELL

SOCIAL SECURITY DEPARTMENT GATHERING.

Mi's. J. L. L. Wood was hostess at a very pleasant, function held recently by the staff of the Social Security Department. the occasion being the farewell to Mr. G. W. H. Moore, chief clerk, who has been transferred bn promotion as district agent to Lower Hutt. During the course of the evening the registrar. Mr. J. L. L. Wood, made eulogistic reference to Mr. Moore's capabilities as an office)' and to his friendly relations with the staff, onwhose behalf he made the presentation of an attache case. In reply. Mr. Moore said that he would always treasure happy memories of his work in Masterton. and hoped that he would have opportunities of visiting the branch from time to lime. After the presentation, the company partook of ;t most excellent supper prepared by Mesdames Wood and C. Pickering, and a very happy evening terminated with pianoforte and choral .items.
