STATEMENT BY ADMIRAL YONAI NON-INVOLVEMENT IN WAR REAFFIRMED. DETERMINATION TO ACT INDEPENDENTLY. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.15 a.m.) TOKIO, May 2. The Prime Minister (Admiral Yonai) reaffirmed Japan's non-involve-rnent in the European war. He said. “Japan is determined to act independently, to cope with developments arising from the war or the general international situation." He added that there would be many difficulties at home and abroad before Japan will obtain her objectives and this necessitated a lengthy maintenance of the general mobilisation.
