GLORIA JEAN
TO STAR WITH LORETTA YOUNG. Loretta Young and Gloria Jean, Universal’s eleven-year-old singing star, •will be co-starred in a special production, “Our City,” which Joe Pasternak plans to launch this spring following months of preparation. A tale of two sisters, with a New York City background, it is being especially written by Grover Jones, who was also responsible for the screen play of “The Under-pup,” Gloria Jean’s introductory film. Richard Wallace, who directed “The Underpup” also draws the directional assignment on “Our City.”, A brilliant cast has already been assembled by Pasternak to surround the “two sisters” in “Our City.” The players will include Robert Cummings, Eugene Pallette, Lewis Howard. Billy Gilbert and “The Under-pup Imps,” Kenneth Brown and Billy Lenhart. Actual production will get under way following completion of the Tay Garnett production, “World Cruise,” in which Miss Young stars, and the picture, “If I Had My Way,” in which Gloria Jean is co-starred with Bing Crosby.
