NAZI ALLEGATION
AMERICAN PROTECTION OF AUSTRALIA AND SINGAPORE. SUGGESTIONS TO JAPAN. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON, April 30. The Berlin correspondent of the British United Press sends an extract from an editorial in which the Allgemeine Zeitung” appears to suggest that the United States has quietly taken over the “protection” of Australia and Singapore in the event of emergency.
The writer declares that America is acting differently from 20 years ago. She is not waiting till the end of the war to carry out her plans. However, the assumption that England cannot be defeated is no longer true.
The extract forwarded by the correspondent concludes “German victorj’ will work to the advantage of Japan and divert America from her policy of ‘keeping a tight rein on Japan aftei having taken over the protection of Australian and Singapore.”
