INTENSIVE AIR ATTACKS

Made by British Squadrons ENORMOUS DAMAGE DONE AT STAVANGER AND OSLO SEVEN OF THE ATTACKING PLANES LOST In a series of waves, R.A.F. planes bombed the aerodrome at Stavanger during the night. A reconnaissance in the morning showed that an enormous amount of damage had been done. No opposition was met with and all our planes returned safely. In further air attacks on an aerodrome near Oslo and on the Aalborg Aerodrome in Denmark, many German fighter planes were encountered and seven of our machines failed to return. Four enemy machines were destroyed and many more were damaged or destroyed on the ground. In both cases the damage done by the British bombers was enormous. In the attack on the Oslo Aerodrome the advance guard dropped incendiary bombs and high explosives and later bombers were guided by an enormous fire, which could be seen thirty miles away. The British planes pressed home the attack and in low dives' dropped salvoes of high explosives. To finish ofi the attack they dropped more bombs on an adjoining seaplane base.
