GOLD MINING

COMPANY RETURNS. The secretaries of the Okarito Five Mile Beach Gold Dredging Co.. Ltd., report that the dredge is again operating and that a’ return of 18oz was obtained last week as the result of 125 hours’ dredging. The secretaries of Gillespie’s Beach Gold Dredging Company, Ltd., report that, owing to a slight hold up on the dredge for some hours the dredgernaster decided Io postpone the washup until next week.

Argo dredge recovered 27 ounces from 10,000 cubic yards in 108 hours last week.

The Blackball Creek dredge last week secured a return of 62 ounces of gold in 113 hours’ dredging time. Fiji mining returns for four weeks ended April 17:—Loloma, 2260 long tons crushed for 3003 oz; total recovery for period. 3304 Emperor, 11,971 tons crushed for 36630 z.
