The Board of General Purposes of the Masonic Grand Lodge of New Zealand, its chief administrative body, resolved at a meeting held yesterday to recommend to the Grand Lodge that an interest free loan of £lO,OOO be made to the Government, for the perI icd of the duration of the war and six I months after. I Further the Board resolved upon a ! gift of £5OOO to the National Patriotic I Council. This amount is to be ailocat- ; cd as follows: £2500 for the general purposes of the Patriotic Fund and £2500 for the relief of sick and wounded and distressed. The Grand Master. Mr C. J. Ronaldson. in announcing those decisions to the Grand Lodge last evening, said these dispositions would be further proof to the world that Freemasonry took an active part in furthering the welfare of the countries in which il resided.
