I A War Office communique states that the British, fighting with indomitable courage in the Dombas area, have resisted any further enemy advances. Northward of Stankjaer, the British • again proved their superiority in patrol work, and inflicted heavy casualties. Fresh- landings have been made along the coast of Norway. ! DEFEATIST TONE i DENOUNCED BY LIBERAL LEADER. THINGS COUNTRY IS ENTITLED TO KNOW. (Received This Day. 12.55 p.m.) LONDON. April 30. Sir Archibald Sinclair (Liberal Leader), in a speech, deplored the defeatist attitude of some British people, and asked the reason for apparently inspired articles suggesting the evacuation of Norway. He expressed the opinion that the evacuation of Southern and Central Norway would only be justifiable if the military situation were beyond repair. “The country is entitled to know." he said, “whether the troops sent were highly-trained regulars, with experienced officers and adequate equipment. If they were, why was the British counter-stroke so slow in coming?
