ATTEMPTING TO SOW MINES. DRIVEN OFF FROM ENGLISH COAST. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright LONDON. April 23. The Air Ministry announced that the enemy raiders driven off from the English coast were apparently engaged in attempting to lay mines in the Thames and Humber estuaries. During the night, German aircraft appeared off the east coast of England and tried to lay mines in the Thames and Humber, Daventry reports. Theymet with a hot reception. No air raid alarm was sounded and no bombs were dropped on land.
