APPOINTMENT OF ARCHDEACON SIMKIN. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. It was announced today that the successor to Archbishop Averill as Bishop of Auckland is Archdeacon William John Simkin. Archdeacon of Manukau. secretary of the Auckland Diocese and Provincial Secretary of the General Synod. The consecration will take place probably in May or June. All bishops will attend. Archdeacon Mac Murray. who is aged 85, announced his retirement today. He will be Archbishop Emeritus.
