CENTRAL SCHOOL
PARENTS' ASSOCIATION. ELECTION OF COMMITTEE. Mr W. L. Butler (deputy chairman) presided in the absence of the chairman (Mr G. Beecroft) at the biennial meeting of the Central School Parents' Association. The president's report was read and adopted. The treasurer (Mr Coddington) in making his report, claimed the privilege of speaking first as headmaster. He eulogised the good work of the members of the association, whose help in many ways had proved to be invaluable to the school. He deeply regretted that Mr and Mrs Beecroft, were not seeking re-election as their assistance would be missed very much. The treasurer's report was adopted. Mrs Beecroft moved and Mr J. McKenzie seconded: "That the retiring committee be re-elected with power to add.” The motion was carried. The secretary, Mr P. H. Shaw, referring to the retirement of Mr and Mrs Beecroft, who were members of the original committee and had been chairman of the committee and chairwoman of the ladies’ committee, respectively, said that Mr and Mrs Beecroft had assisted to build a good foundation for. the association. He moved that a hearty vote of thanks be accorded to Mr and Mrs Beecroft for the services they had rendered, coupled with the name of Mr F. Stains, who was also retiring. The motion was carried by acclamation. The matter of appointing a new chairman- was held over till the next meeting of the committee . The chairman thanked the members for their attendance.. The meetingclosed -with a vote of thanks to the chair. . The committee now consists of Mesdames Coddington, W. R. Nicol. M. Nicol. Braggins and Emerson. Messrs Shaw; Coddington. W. R. Nicol. M. Nicol. Dixon. Bradley. Emerson and Butler. ■
