BRITISH BUSINESS MAN'S GENEROUS GIFT. QUARTER OF A MILLION STERLING. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 11.4 a.m.) RUGBY, April 22. Mr Charles Brotherton, chairman of a well-known Yorkshire chemical manufacturing firm has given £250,000 to help welfare work in the North and Midlands. A trust yielding £lO.OOO annually will be formed for welfare schemes in cities mid towns where the firm has branches.
