INTRODUCTION OF NEW SCHEDULE. TAKING EFFECT ON MAY 1. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. As from May 1. working hours in the Civil Service will be from 8.25 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. to 5 p.m.. replacing the present schedule of eight to noon, and 1 p.m. to 4.35 p.m. It is explained in official quarters that the new hours will be ol particular advantage to working' conditions in the South Island, and it is felt also that they will be more acceptable to the business and commercial community generally.
