ANZAC DAY
SERVICE IN MASTERTON ON THURSDAY ARRANGEMENTS AT THE PARK. ADDRESS BY ARCHDEACON RICH. The twenty-fifth Anzac Day service in memory of the 17,000 New Zealanders who made the supreme sacrifice during the Great War of 1914-1918 will be held at the Masterton Park War Memorial, starting at 10.50 a.m. on Thursday. The order of service will be: 10.50 a.m.. National Anthem (2 verses); 10.53, Prayer; 10.55, Lesson; 10.58. Laying of h.S.A. Wreath of Remembrance by the President of the Wairarapa R.S.A.. Mr R. Whyborn; 11 a.m., Two minutes' silence; 11.3, Address by the Ven. Archdeacon. E. J. Rich. C.F.; 11.10, Recessional (first and last verses); ,11.13. Closing prayer; 11.15, March of Returned Soldiers to the Soldiers' Club. Complete arrangements have been made and if the weather is unfavourable the service will be held at the same time in the Municipal Hall. The parade of returned soldiers will leave the Soldiers’ Club at 10.40 a.m., the Masterton Municipal Band heading the ex-servicemen. The local Territorial units will be on parade, and the Legion of Frontiersmen, the College Cadets and the Scouts are also taking pa. i. Members of the Territorials are reminded that a parade will be held at the Masterton Drill Hall at 10.15 a.m. A record attendance is expected to marl: the passage of a quarter of a century of homage paid to those who fell in the last war. Whether members of the -association or not, all ex-ser-vicemcn are invited to parade.
