BRITISH BUDGET

BIG INCREASE IN OUTLAY INEVITABLE. (British Official Wireless.) ißeceived This Day. 10.40 a.m.) RUGBY, April 21. In the coming week the House of Commons will bo largely occupied with the Budget, which Sir John Simon (Chancellor of the Exchequer) will present on Tuesday. Perhaps owing to the fact that no detailed estimates of Service expenditure have been made and so little of the financial position made known, speculating on the Budget has been greatly reduced this year. It is certain, however, that Sir J. Simon will have to budget for a far larger expenditure in 1940-41 than the 1,815 million sterling spent in the past financial year.
