SAVAGE THREATS
HITLER’S BIRTHDAY GIFT TO NORWAY. LONDON, April 21. A proclamation issued in Norway on the occasion of Herr Hitler's birthday demands that the Norwegians submit to German rule or “the German sword will strike Norway with its full sharpness and dreadfulness.” Death sentences on Norwegians were commuted, but it was emphasised that this must not be regarded as a sign of weakness.
