British troops are now fighting in eastern Norway, according to a Norwegian communique. It is reported that British troops landed at Laerdalsoren, which is important strategically as it controls the roads to Fagernaes, the terminus of the railway from Oslo, and to the OsloBergen railway. The Norwegian and Allied forces are encircling Trondheim and advancing satisfactorily after clashes with Germans toward Aasen, where the Germans are in strong positions. They are also fighting the invaders at Orkedalsoren. where the Navy patrols the mouth of the fiord. Hegre continues to hold out. Air activity hereabouts is very lively. The Norwegians officially state that Germans bombed Rena and Osen, and that German tanks were destroyed at Rands Fiord.
