ANOTHER LANDING
REPORTED IN NORWAV BRITISH TROOPS IN AREA NORTH OF TRONDHEIM. NOWEGIANS RESISTING STUBBORNLY. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON, April 13. It is reported from Sweden that British troops have landed at Namsos. British planes bombed Sjordalshals, another town in the Trondheim area. Meanwhile the Norwegians are stubbornly resisting the German advance on Elverum from the south. The invaders encountered a large force of defenders strongly entrenched in the foothills of a mountain range. Norwegians holding a fort in the German rear inflicted considerable losses. The German Official News Agency claims the occupation of the entire territory south-eastward of Oslo, extending to the Swedish frontier. The Germans claim the occupation of the fortresses of Oscarsburg and Drobak dominating Oslo Fiord. The German High Command asserts that the transport of supplies to Norwegian harbours has continued despite bad weather. The Royal Air Force is reported to have destroyed seven German planes and hit a petrol, store at Trondheim on April 16. The German News Agency claims that the British have lost nearly thirty planes in the last few days, not including losses caused when an aircraft carrier was damaged on April 11. It admits the loss of ten German planes during the same period. Namsos is about 150 miles north of Trondheim and is linked with the latter place by railway.
