STATE OF SIEGE

DECLARED IN HOLLAND. A state of siege to cover the whole of Holland was announced by the' Netherlands Prime Minister, in a broadcast. Holland was ready at any time, he said, to place its services for peace at the disposal of the belligerents. PREMIER’S BROADCAST INTERESTS OF NEUTRALITY. (Received This Dav. 10.10 a.m.) AMSTERDAM, April 19. The Premier, broadcasting, said the Government, in the interests of neutrality. had decided to extend a state of siege throughout Holland. The Premier, whose broadcast was relayed to the Dutch East Indies, said Holland jvas ready to place her services at the disposal of belligerents and her Peace Palace was open to them. Holland would resist with arms any attempt to extend protective assistance. The same applied to her overseas possessions.
