JAPANESE HELP
RESPONSE TO CANADA’S WAR EFFORT. MANY DONATIONS MADE. VANCOUVER. Japanese residents in Canada are appreciative of the treatment accorded them in this country and have responded to the call for assistance in helping to finance the Dominion's war efforts. Not only have they subscribed extensively to Canada’s first War Loan, but many Japanese societies in this part of the Dominion have taken up collections among their members and donated the proceeds to Canada’s War Fund. Societies reported to have made such donations since the first of lhe year include the Parents’ Association of Mnrpolc. Japanese Ijikai. Vancouver Japanese Cleaners' Association. Steveston Japanese Association. No. 1 District (Japanese) Fishermen’s Association, Cumberland Japanese Mission. Skeena fJapanese) Fishermen's Association. Japanese employees of the British Columbia Pulp and Paper Co.. Group of Japanese Fishermen at Ladner, Surrey Nokai Association of Japanese fruit growers.
