EKETAHUNA SALE. KEEN COMPETITION. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd., report on the Eketahuna sale as follows: —A good entry of sheep of all classes and a small yarding of cattle were submitted to a good attendance of buyers. Competition was keen throughout the sale with a good clearance at very satisfactory prices. The following is the range of prices:—Fat b.f. lambs, 21s 4d; fat wethers 23s lOd, store wethers, 19s to 19s lOd: best shorn wether lambs. 15s lid to 17s Id; woolly wether lambs 13s. 15s 3d to 15s lid; ewe lambs, 17s; b.f. lambs 12s 3d. 14s 2d, to 15s 7d; cull lambs 7s to 9s; m.a. ewes r.w. S.D. 14s, 15s Gd, 17s 9d to 19s lOd. Springing cows, £G 10s; springing heifers £G ss; weaner dairy heifers, £3 to £3 ss. Messrs Dalgety and Company Limited report on their Eketahuna Sale held yesterday, as follows:—A large entry of all classes of sheep came forward and were offered to a large and representative attendance, buyers being present from all the local and Masterton districts. The sale from the onset was spirited, and prices showed a decided rise on our last week’s sale, lambs in particular being in keen demand. We report a total clearance, and the following will indicate values —Four-year ewes account H. Moar, 18s lOd; woolly ewes lambs, account C. Nagel, 24s 7d; medium ditto, account H. Higginson. 16s 2d; shorn ewe lambs, medium, account W. Anderson, 17s 6d; ditto, account Baldwin estate, 17s; shorn wether lambs, account ditto, 16s; other’ medium sorts, 12s 6d, 12s 7d to 13s 4d; woolly wether lambs, medium, 14s to 14s 4d; small ditto, 10s 6d to Ils 3d; medium shorn b.f. lambs, 13s 4d; small ditto, 7s Gd, 8s to 9s 3d; b.f. two-tooths, IGs, lGs Gd to 17s 3d; fattening ewes in store condition, Bs, 8s Gd. to 9s Id: forward condition ewes for fattening. 10s, 10s Gd to 12s Id; weaner pis, 6s. 7s, Bs, 8s Gd. ■
