ESPERANTO

MASTERTON CLUB MEETING. The weekly meeting of the Masterton Esperanto Club was held last evening in the club room. Municipal Buildings. Mr. A. G. Wiltshire presided. It was announced by the president that permission had been given last week for the inauguration of Esperanto classes at the Rongotai College, Wellington, and at the Khandallah public school. Instruction in Esperanto at both institutions will be given by a qualified Esperantist school teacher. Mr A. Vogt, during official hours and the classes will comprise about 60 and 40 pupils respectively. In addition, a special class outside college hours has been established for a number of teachers attached to the Rongotai College. . Correspondence- and literature in Esperanto received during the week included a booklet (70 pages) setting out the programmes of the three radio stations of Rome, journals from Switzerland and two books, "Criminology.” translated from Hungarian, and "Future Education." originally written in Esperanto by Dr. A. Ferriere. of the International Office of Education, Geneva. As the club room will not be available on Anzac Day. it was decided to cancel next week's meeting of the club, also that, in future, the club meetings be held each Monday instead of Thursday. Following the usual tuition, the secretary. Mr. W. H. King, gave a brief talk entitled "Photography."
