MARTHA GOLD MINING CO.
DECREASE IN NET PROFIT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, April 18. A net profit of £02,250 was earned by the Martha Gold Mining Company (Waihi), Limited, last year, according to details of the accounts received by cablegram from London by the New Zealand director and attorney, Mr J. 11. G. Banks. This result compares with £09.342 a year ago and £100.427 in 1937. The year's dividend absorbs EG1.989. leaving £5750 to be carried forward, against £5495 brought in. Taxation, which includes income tax in London and New Zealand, shows an increase of £12.395. An interim dividend of Gd a share, free of tax. was distributed in November. The year’s payment is Is 3d a share, equal to 25 per cent, as against Is Gd. or 30 per cent in the previous year.
