“RECRUITING AGENTS”
STALIN'S LATEST. Clark Gable, Myrna Loy and Spencer Tracy, stars of the film “‘Test Pilot.” have now been roped in by Stalin as “recruiting agents" to fill the gap in his Red air force caused by the war in Finland. slates a “Daily Express" reporter in Copenhagen. The stars’ pictures are being used in a nation-wide recruiting campaign appealing to young Russians Io join the "glorious Red air force.” One of the leaflets found in a Russian pilot's pocket in Finland shows the pilot’s fascinating life. On the front page is a large picture of a burly “Russian” pilot surrounded by giant bombers. The pilot is Clark Gable, and the bombers are from “Test Pilot.” Underneath is the caption: “Why aren't you a pilot?” On the other side is a picture of j Clark Gable and Myrna Loy embracing ; with a Californian background of a sunny villa and palms waving in a Pacific breeze. States the caption: “Their income allows the capitalise world’s pilots to spend their spare time like this. The Soviets can do the same for you. So why don't you join the Soviet air force?”
