The Government is reported to have unanimously decided to resist and the German Minister handed Dr Munch a demand for the withdrawal of resistance. Dr Munch and Mr Stauning hurried to the palace. After an hour’s conference the German Minister announced the expiration of the ultimatum, whereupon the King replied that opposition would be withdrawn.
