Reports from American official sources abroad indicate that Germany has only 10,000 troops in Norway plus whatever she has been able to fly there. It is estimated that these do not exceed a thousand daily. Germany sent six divisions to Denmark, but has only attempted so far to transport, two to Norway. Originally she attempted to send 30.000 troops, but the Allies sank transports carrying 8000. and 17 loaded transports are nt present, held up in Denmark by the British Navy. Germany has concentrated opposite the Belgian and Dutch borders 68 divisions, and in Greater Germany altogether 193 divisions, or 2,900,000 men, are mobilised. CRUISER BOMBED FOLLOWING BOMBARDMENT OF STAVANGER. VESSEL DAMAGED BUT ABLE TO RETURN TO EASE. (Received This Day. 10.20 a.m.) LONDON. April 17. An Admiralty communique says: "The Navy heavily bombarded Stavanger Aerodrome for eighty minutes early this morning. After this action against the aerodrome, which the R.A.F. had already bombed seven times, a bomb hit a British cruiser, which was damaged, but was able to continue its course to its base."
