Tomorrow I lie annual Poppy Day appeal will be made throughout Hie Wairarapa on behalf ol' the Returned Soldiers’ Association. In Mastertoll a band of helpers organised by the Mayoress (Mrs T. Jordan) will conduct a house to house canvass and similar arrangements have been made in oilier district towns.

Good use has always been made of Poppy Day proceeds in relieving distress among returned soldiers and their families during the winter months and il is anticipated ihal a eonlinuation of this help will again be needed during Die coming winter al a time when work may not be plentiful and Hie eosl of living high.

Apart rrom the commendable and practical purpose that is served by their sale in benefiting; those who have stroii.e; claims to consideration and assistance, the floppies will again serve as memorial flowers to lie worn on Anzae Day. A generous response has always been made by the people of the Wairarapa io the heart-searching' appeal of Poppy Day and il is aid wipe led confidenlly that there will be no falling off tomorrow from the standards that have been set in this respect in the past.
