BREAD AND APPLE PUDDING
FOR WEDNESDAY’S DINNER. Well grease a fireproof dish and arrange apple slices over the bottom. Sprinkle with sugar, a.little cinnamon, and. if liked, a pinch ground cloves. On top of this, some thin slices of bread and butter and a few sultanas or raisins. Continue this until mould is 3 parts full. Bea,t two large eggs with 1 tablespoon sugar, add 2 cups milk, a little vanilla or lemon essence, add to bread mixture and bake in a pan of water in a moderate oven until quite set and apples are soft. Serve cold.
