The prompt action of the Allied fleets has had an excellent effect in Norway, where, according to the latest reports reaching London, the people are in good heart and the morale of the troops is high. .Mobilisation is proceeding satisfactorily despite difficulties, and where contact with the invaders has been made the Norwegian resistance has been stubborn and is stiffening. Information regarding actual lighting is scanty. As is generally known, the German forces exercise an effective control over very small parts of the country. The B.B.C’s broadcasts in Norwegian and English are Norway’s main sources of trustworthy news in present circumstances.
