Mrs R. R. Macdonald paid a brie!' visit to Wellington hist week. Miss Allen, Lansdowne, is spending the weekend in Wellington. Mrs N. C. Pearce. Featherston, has returned from a visit to Lower Hutt. Mr and Mrs G. Grylls are staying with Mr and Mrs N. H. James. Pownall Street. Masterton. Mr and Mrs Hodgkins (To Aroha) are staying at the t’rince of Wales Hotel (Masterton).
Mrs R. Glendinning, Wairoa. has been spending a week with her mother. Mrs S. M. Baird, Masterton. Mr and Mrs Elliott, Matamata. booked in today at the Prince of Wales Hotel (Masterton).
Mrs B. Pl. Bunny, Cole Street, Masterton, who has been staying with her daughter, Mrs R. Fell. Lower Hutt, has returned to Masterton.
Mr and Mrs F. R. Bodie, Short Street. Masterton, who have been visiting Auckland and Rotorua, have returned to Masterton.
Misses J. and K. Barns-Graham, Gisborne. who are visiting Masterton, will leave later on an extended visit to Australia, South Africa and Scotland. At present staying at Windsor House. Masterton, are Mrs Shalto Lamb (Wellington), Mr and Mrs Catherall (Hastings). Mr and Mrs Gaze and Airman Wilson.
Miss Eva L. Stanton, Dunedin, daughter of the Rev and Mrs'L. Stanton, is on her way to Papua, where she will take up residence as a missionary. Though born in Wellington. Miss Stanton has spent the greater part of her life in Dunedin. She recently underwent two years' intensive training at the New Zealand Bible Training Institute. Auckland, as well as several years at Asbury College, Kentucky, U.S.A. Miss Noeline M. Knight, senior tutor sister at Wellington Hospital, has been appointed matron of New Plymouth Hospital, a position that will become vacant at the end of July by the retirement on superannuation of Miss B. A. Campbell, who has resigned after 40 years’ association with the hospital. Miss Knight trained at the Christchurch hospital and was attached to the staff there for 14 years. She obtained her maternity nursing experience at the Alexander Hospital, Wellington, and her Plunket training in Dunedin. She holds the New Zealand post-graduate course nursing certificate. and has had experience overseas.
