FOOTBALL CLUB NAME CHANGE AT ANNUAL MEETING. ("Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Old Boys’ Football Club was held in the Fire Station last night, the president (Mr C. H. Parsons) presiding over a good attendance. The balance-sheet, which disclosed a small credit balance, was adopted without discussion. Prior to the election of officers it was unanimously decided to change the name of the club from that of "Old Boys" to The Eketahuna Football Club.” The election of officers resulted as follosw: —Patron. Mr V/. Anderson; President, Mr C. H. Parsons; VicePresidents, Messrs D. H. Butcher; R. Gallagher, O. Johansen. P. Manson, S. J. O’Regan, J. Taylor, P. Fauvel; C. Oliver. A. Ramsay; secretary-treasurer. Mr W. Olsen, jun.; club captain. Mr W. Steer; coach and selector. Mr D. Butcher; social committee. Messrs W. Taylor, R. Steer, D. Anderson. B. Ryan. It was decided to enter a third-grade team in lhe Bush Union competition. The subscription was fixed at 2s 6d. The meeting observed a minute’s silence out of respect to the memory of the late Mr D. Curry, a member of lhe club’s third-grade team last season. It was decided to ask the Borough Council's permission for the use of the Domain for practice purposes. Before closing the meeting. Mr Parsons thanked the past secretary. Mr H. Steer, for the excellent manner in which he had carried out his duties. A hearty vote of thanks to the chair concluded an enthusiastic meeting. Persona! Items. Miss Betty Edmonds, Alfredton, has returned home from a visit to Masterton. Mrs V. Doney, Stanley Street, has returned after having visited Palmerston North. Mrs W. Evans, Stanley Street, is spending a holiday at Petone. Miss Audrey Hansen is paying a short visit to Mangamaire.
