MORERE OIL BORE
HARD SHALE FORMATION PENETRATED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) GISBORNE. April 11. A bulletin issued by the New Zealand Petroleum Company. Limited, states that drilling at Morcre No 1 well has reached a depth of 1500 ft. The formation penetrated is hard shale. The hole is showing no deviation from the vertical. During the past week 225 ft has been bored, this rate comparing favourably with the best rate of progress made at Totangi.
