Mrs Barrer said that Mrs Groves had rendered very valuable service over a period of four years. She had given of her very best in the interests of the branch and what it stood for. and in so doing she had made many sacrifices, of which the members were very appreciative. Mrs Groves thanked Mrs Barrer and the members for their kindly remarks. She would still take a keen interest in the work of the division. Mrs Groves presented handsome shoulder sprays to the hon treasurer. Mrs C. H. McKenzie, and to the hon secretary, Mrs M. Rue, and thanked them for their loyal support during her term of office which had helped materially to lighten her duties. Mrs Carter, a visitor from Taranaki, who had just returned from a visit to Australia, gave a brief talk on what the Australian women were doing for the soldiers. For instance no socks were being made in the factories, the entire work being undertaken by the women.

A hearty vote of thanks was tendered to Mrs Carter for her interesting talk and to the retiring officers, the hon auditor, and to the Press for their generous publicity.
