GOLF CLUB ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was an excellent attendance at the annual meeting of the Eketahuna Golf Club held in the Municipal Buildings. The. president, Mr R. Dickson was in the chair. The annual report and balance sheet were adopted without discussion. The club closed last season with a credit balance of £3O 18s 9d, a most satisfactory state of affairs considering that. I the season commenced with a deficit of £5O. The annual report stated inter alia: —The club has experienced another successful year and although weather conditions were at times most unpleasant, keen competition was in evidence throughout the season. The membership was well maintained, there being an exceedingly gratifying influx of new members. The winners of the various competitions were as follows: —Ladies, senior championship, Miss N. Greathead; junior championship, Miss P. O'Regan; Herbert Cup, Miss N. Greathead; Southey Cups, Miss J. Angus and Miss P. O'Regan; Ladies Golf Union Medals, Miss J. Angus (silver medal), Miss P, O'Regan (bronze medal). Men: Senior Championship, Mr D. Fraser; intermediate championship, Mr W. Leith; junior championship. Mr R. Dickson; Southey Cup, Mr H. Higginson; White Cup, Mr V. Anderson. The club's third annual tournament was held in June. There was an excellent entry of local and outside club members. The second day of the tournament was marred by atrocious weather, but, nevertheless,, all events were finalised and the tournament was an outstanding success. The usual in-ter-club matches were played in addition to an unsuccessful match with Pahiatua for the Gregorio Cup. At the commencement of the season a new mower of improved design was purchased and the green surfaces were considerably improved. The club house was painted, the work being done voluntarily by Messrs R. and J. Dickson. Our thanks are due to them for their work. We have to record that one of our members Mr J. Tredray is now on military service, and another member, Mr J. Dickson, will shortly enter camp. The statement of receipts and expenditure shows that the club’s finances are in a healthy state. It is pleasing to note that the club house is now free of debt, and we have once more a credit balance. Much credit, for this is due to the business like administration of our affairs by our worthy president, Mr R. Dickson, Wo have, as usual, to extend our thanks to the ladies of the club for their unfailing service in attending to the social side of the club. We particularly thank the ladies who, under most trying conditions, prepared and supplied meals to the competitors at the annual tournament. In conclusion, we wish to thank all members for their willing co-operation during the year, the outgoing Committee for its work and the Press for valued publicity. The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Mr. F. White (reelected); president, Mr. R. Dickson (reelected); vice-president, Dr. E. M. Simmers; club captain, Mr. M.
