FLOODING AT AKURA

» INSPECTION BY ENGINEERS AND OTHERS. Flooding from the Waipoua River at Akura was a matter discussed this morning by Mr H. Watkinson, District Engineer. Public Works Department, and Mi' A. P. Grant, the Department's river engineer. when they met members of the Masterton County Council and settlers at. Akura. Mr C. R. Mabson. Borough engineer, was also present. The party made an inspection of the river above the point where Hooding of the IVlatahiwi Road occurred and also considered the council's proposals for the prevention of flooding in so far as they concerned the road.
