Military Enlistments. The following is the latest list of military enlistments at the Masterton Defence Office: Messrs A. McLeod (Martinborough); L. H. Daroux and T. S. Stilburn (Masterton). Bookmakers Fined. Harold Dallas anef Percival Thomae Joyce, hairdressers, were each fined £25 and costs in the Wellington Magistrate's Court yesterday on charges of bookmaking. Salvation Army Work. At the civic welcome to Commissioner and Mrs Evan Smith in the Salvation Army Hall last night, the Commissioner referred to the fact that the Army was attending to the needs of troops in 150 to 200 camps in England, while in France the lame good work was being carried out. First Hawke's Bay Regiment, held in the Masterton Drill Hall last night. During the evening a screening of tlie annual camp of instruction at Waiouru was shown by Mr D. Catt. Members of the National Military Reserve and other Territorial units were present at the screening, and among the officers present was Colonel J. H. Irving, E.D. The film showed the splendid work and the high standard of efficiency reached by the men in camp. Throughout the screening amusement was provided by various interjections as local men appeared in the scenes.
