Street Maintenance Work.

The Masterton Borough Council is making good progress in its borough rtar sealing programme, which had been held up owing to the recent windy weather. Among the streets to receive attention is Cole Street, a start on which was made this morning, and Bannister Street which was re-sealed recently. The Borough Engineer stated this morning that it was intended to carry on with the sealing programme as far on as the weather permitted. Children’s Services. Special children’s services were held in Knox Church yesterday, at which a large choir of children rendered a selection of hymns, choruses and part songs. Children also gave Scripture readings and solos. The results of long hours of training put in by Miss E. Stubbings and Mr G. C. L. Dickel were apparent in the high standards reached. The services were conducted by the Rev. John Davie, and there were large congregations at both the morning and evening services.
