WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
ANNUAL MEETING AT MT BRUCE OFFICERS FOR ENSUING YEAR. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Mount Bruce Women’s Institute was held in the hall, Mrs H. West presiding. Mrs West cordially welcomed two members of the Wairarapa executive. Mrs Keir and Mrs Dagg. As only the required number of nominations for office were received no election was . necessary. The following are the officers for the ensuing year: —President, Mrs H. West: vice-presidents, Mrs R. E. Campbell. Miss O. Campbell; treasurer. Mrs C. J. Campbell; secretary. Mrs D. McLachlan; committee, Mrs H. Daken and Miss M. West. It was reported that 12 helmets were forwarded to the Navy League, having been knitted by the members from wool supplied by the League. Mrs H. West was appointed delegate to attend the annual meeting to be held in Masterton on April 24. The competitions were won as follow: —Cold sweet. Miss West 1. Mrs West 2. Blooms: Mrs Welch 1. Miss M. Campbell 2. Mrs C. L. Welch, the winner of last year’s points prize, was presented with a suitable trophy. The president and secretary were presented with gifts in appreciation of the valuable services they had given the Institute.
