AFRICAN TRADE
ANGLO-FRENCH MARKETING SCHEME. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, April 4. The first fruits of the recent talks between the British and French Colonial Secretaries in Paris, in which the foundations were laid for close cooperation between their two departments in matters concerning the production and trade of the two colonial Empires, have already appeared with an announcement from the British Colonial Office of an agreement between the two Governments on the marketing of West Africa cocoa. The setting up of this new AngloFrench marketing scheme, which has been necessitated by the loss to British West Affrica of the important German market for her cocoa exports, has the effect of guaranteeing a satisfactory price to the native producers.
