Territorial Parade.

A large attendance is expected at the parade of C Company, First Hawke's Bay Regiment,-'which will be held in the Masterton Drill Hall at 7.30 o’clock on Monday night. During the evening a film of the camp and training at Waiouru will be screened. Members of D Company and Classes 1 and 2 of the National Military Reserve are Invited to attend. Eliminating a Crossing. Construction of a road traffic bridge over tlie railway in Helens'ville is to start almost immediately, the PublicWorks Department having let a contract for the work to Mr G. C. Sharp. The crossing to be eliminated has long been regarded as dangerous, and it is not anticipated there will now be anyjl delay in its elimination, work having already been carried out in preparing the new approaches of the northern highway and in regrading the railway tracks. Benefit to Charities. The extent to which Auckland charities benefited as a result of the operations of the “sunshine box” of the Auckland Rotary Club was mentioned by Mr G. J. Park in an address at a luncheon of the club. He said that many of the young men who were guests at the gathering had doubtlessly been somewhat amused by the collection of “fines” from various members. The amounts placed in the box. varying, perhaps, from a shilling or two to £l. made a substantial sum in the aggregate and, as a result, it was possible to help deserving social work in the city to the extent of £4OO or £5OO every year.

Help the weak if you are strong. Respect the old if you are young: Own your faults when you are wrong: And when you're angry hold your tongue. Pay your debts before you bet, Back not a bill for rich or poor. And when a cough or chill you get, Take Woods’ Great Peppermint Cure. 5
