TE ORE ORE MEETING HOUSE
RE-BUILDING PROPOSAL. ANNUAL MEETING OF SOCIETY. At the annual meeting of the Te Ore Ore Meeting House Welfare Society, held recently, there was a' large attendance. Officers were elected as follows: — Patron. Mr. Len Pike; president, Mrs. V. Pike; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. M. James W. James. Walter Cameron, I. D. Cameron, D. J. Cameron. R. F. R. Beetham, Trevor Beetham, G. H. Perry, J. P. Perry, W. G. Perry, I. MacRae. P. J. Borthwick. J. Robertson, M.P., T. Jordan, A. H. Daniell; secretary. Mrs K. Ellison Te Tan: joint treasurer, Miesdames N. Haeata and M. Haeata; advisory committee for the new meeting ‘house, Mr Moana Rimene and Mrs W. Albert Himona. A committee representing the Te Ore Ore, Te Whiti, Taueru and Akura districts was elected. A start will shortly be made with the new meeting house and a Paddy’s Market is to be held early, in May in aid of the rebuilding fund. The pro'-, moters state that a meeting house is,a necessity for the Maori community and hope that those interested will respond generously to any appeal made.
