DOG TRIALS
MEETING AT PONGAROA. HIGH STANDARD OF WORK. ("Times-Age” Special.) At the Akitio dog trials held at Pongaroa the judge (Mr R. J. McDonald, Dannevirke) had a hard task in separating the first four dogs in the open short head and yard, remarking that the work was well up to championship form. The work generally at the trials is of high standard. Results are as follow:— Short head and yard: Joo Tait (Dannovirke), 58J points. 1: F. Willsher (Pahiatua), 58 points. 2; B. Riddell (Pongaroa), 57.7 points. 3; R. Wilful (Dannovirke). 571 points. 4. Maiden short head and yard: Mrs Hovard (Alfredton), 53 points, 1; S. Purvis (Pahiatua). 511 points, 2; R. Churchhouse (Pongaroa), 50 points, 3. Long head and hold in ring: S. Purvis (Pahiatua), 46ipts, 1; R. Davy (Pahiatua). 46',pts. 2: F. Willsher (Pahiatua). 46pts. 3. Maiden man and dog: W. Marshall (Pongaroa). 1; T. Hall (Ponganoa), 2; T. Burgess (Alfredton), 3. Maiden dog: S. Purvis (Pahiatua), 1; W. Marshall (Ponganoa), 2; G. Wright (Pongaroa). 3.
