To be floated by the issue of Debentures at a rate of interest not exceeding 4.J per centum per annum under the provisions of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and their respective amendments, and of all other Acts and powers (if any) enabling the Council in that behalf. r pHE Masterton Borough Council hereby gives Public Notice that such Council proposes to borrow, by way of Special Loan, within the meaning of the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, the sum of £10,500 for the purpose of carrying out the works specified hereunder. The particular purposes for which the loan is required, and the sum it is proposed to be borrowed, are as follows: — Cleaning and concrete-lining the lOin. and 12in. mains from the reser- , voir to town, and the 18in. spiral steel main from the Upper Plain reservoir to the intake .... £10,500 The Council proposes to pledge a special rate of eight-twenty-fifths of a penny (8-25 d in the pound on the rateable value on the basis of the Unimproved value of all rateable property within the Borough of Masterton as security for the said loan of £10,500, and the interest and sinking fund thereon. In connection with the repayment of the said loan, it is proposed to establish a Sinking Fund of 31 per centum per annum. It is proposed that the above special loan shall be repayable at the expiration of a period of 20 years, computed from the dates the loan is raised. It is not proposed to pay out of the Special Loan the cost of raising the loan or the interest or sinking fund for the first year. Dated at Masterton this 3rd day of April, 1940. G. T.
