At the resumed hearing of the charge against Udharn Singh of murdering Sir M. O’Dwyer at the Caxton Hall, a police sergeant gave evidence that he searched Singh and found 25 revolver cartridges in his pockets and a cobbler's knife. A detective sergeant gave evidence that Singh made a statement: “I did it because I had a grudge against Sir M. O'Dwyer. He deserved it. 1 don’t belong to any. society and don’t mind dying. I am dying for my country.” He asked: "Is Lord Zetland dead?” and said he ought fo be. Later he asked if ho had killed only one and added: "I thought I could get more. I must have been too slow.” The hearing was adjourned.
