COLONEL J. H. IRVING

APPOINTMENT AS COMMANDING OFFICER. PROCEEDING TO TRENTHAM THIS MONTH. At yesterday's meeting of the Claims Board of the Wairarapa Patriotic Association congratulations were extended to Colonel J. H. Irving, a member of the board upon his military appointment as ;t commanding officer for the duration of the war. The board wished him every success and a safe return to the Dominion, and eulogistic reference was made to his service on the board for a number of years. The board granted him leave of absence during his period of service. Colonel Irving will proceed Io Trentham Camp on April 13.
