CURRIED TOMATOES

A DISH FOR DINNER. Cut 2 large white onions into thin slices and fry until a pale colour. Skin 5 or 6 large tomatoes and cut into thick slices. Well grease h casserole or piedish; put in a layer of tomato, sprinkle with salt, pepper, a little sugar, and curry-powder, now add layer of onion, then a layer of cooked rice. Continue in this way until dish is full, having tomato for top layer. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs and dot with margarine. Bake slowly for 30 minutes.
