The burial of the late Prime Minister (the Rt. Mon. Al. J. Savage) is to take place at Bastion Point, Orakei, Auckland, on Sunday.
A Solemn Requiem Mass was celebrated in the Sacred Heart Basilica, Wellington today, the celebrant, being the Roman. Catholic Archbishop of Wellington and Metropolitan ol New Zealand, Most Rev. Dr. T. O’Shea. The service was broadcast. The body of the late Prime Minister is to lie in state in the main, vestibule of Parliament Buildings until 10 p.m. tomorrow. Representatives of the three Services—Navy, Army and Air Force—will mount guard during the lying-in-state. At 8 a.m. on Saturday, the funeral procession will move off on foot from the steps at Parliament House by the following route: Bowen Street, Lambton Quay, Willis Street, Mercer Street, Lower Cuba Street. Jervois Quay, Waterloo Quay, and so to the station.
The casket, will he borne through the main entrance of the Railway Station, and be placed aboard a special train, which will depart for Auckland at 10.20 a.m. and arrive at Auckland at 2.15 p.m. on Sunday. At various points en route the public will be given an opportunity of paying their respects. The funeral procession will continue from the Auckland Railway
