PLANES FOR ALLIES
THE AMERICAN INQUIRIES.
LIKELY TO BE POSTPONED
INDEFINITELY,
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright WASHINGTON. March 20.
It is believed that .as a result of President Roosevelt's statement, the committees of inquiry into the sale of United States special planes to England and France will be postponed indefinitely.
The Allied Purchasing Mission has formally asked the Government to permit the immediate sale of secret experimental planes to the United Kingdom. It stated that Germany was rapidly expanding her production of exceptionally fast and powerful armoured planes and the Allies would therefore be gambling 1,000,006,000 dollars if they were compelled to take aircraft which would be obsolete before delivery.
