INCREASES IN BRITAIN
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON. March 21.
The price of newsprint is to be increased by 90s a ton from April 1. There will be a further increase of 70s in July, making the price then £25, compared with £ll 10s on the outbreak of war. This means that newspapers generally will raise advertisement rates. Some advocate an all-round increase of 10 per cent. Another suggestion is to raise the price of penny papers lo three-halfpence.
