AN Inaugural Public Meeting, with a view to forming a branch of the many members already enrolled in Masterton and district, together with those wishing to join, will be held in the Masterton A. and P. Rooms, Perry Street, TONIGHT, at 8 o’clock. The Mayor, Mr T. Jordan, will preside. All men and women and their children are eligible for membership who are descendants of settlers who arrived in any of the original provinces within ten years of their official or recognised founding. A milestone will be established in Maslerton tonight by the descendants of the first settlers in the Wairarapa who were amongst the Founders of New Zealand. The Centennial Celebrations in Masterton have been outstanding so far as the achievements of the Early Settlers are concerned, and this Society will serve to perpetuate all like interests and continue to foster the spirit of the pioneers amongst their descendants.
